History
Sometimes in the lower divisions, things move quickly. Founded in 2021 with their USL-2 debut in 2022, One Knoxville SC had aspirations to move into the professional tiers from the start. The team had a successful inaugural season in USL-2, finishing 1st in the South Central Division with an 11-1-2 record before falling in the conference finals.
The call up to USL-1 came a lot faster than most people anticipated, being announced just days after FC Tucson announced a self-relegation back to USL-2. One Knox joins USL-2 along with expansion side Lexington SC, bringing USL-1’s presence in the south up to eight clubs. This is sure to form even more exciting rivalries, especially with Chattanooga Red Wolves, just 1 hours and 40 minutes downstate.
One Knox will play home matches at the 3,000 capacity University of Tennessee Regal Stadium, shared with the Lady Vols soccer team.
