About

We launched League One Updater in October 2022 as an independent hub for news and information about USL League One. The goal is to provide a centralized source for league news and reference material, while supporting the growth of the league and sharing our love of the game in our smaller market cities.

Our editorial stance is to promote the game and opportunities for fans, players and communities. While we report on USL League One, we strive to treat all professional and pre-professional leagues fairly, recognizing that having as many teams as possible in a system as open as possible means the most opportunity possible.

Contact us at leagueoneupdater@gmail.com for feedback, tips, submissions, media inquiries, etc. And of course, DMs are always open on Twitter and Instagram.

Interested in contributing?

Contact us using one of the above methods and pitch your idea! However given that we operate as a loss and do not have financial backing outside of admin’s day job, we are unable to pay for anything at this time. One day we hope to get there.

If interested in pitching to a few outstanding outlets that are set up to pay for quality work, check out Protagonist Soccer and Backheeled.

A note on advertising

From time to time, we experiment with Google ad placements on the site. We try to keep them away from main content and as least distracting, invasive and obnoxious as possible. The ads are purely to recover a portion of the web hosting costs which we pay for out of pocket while doing this for the love of the sport and the league. If you decide to use an ad-blocker, you won’t see them. That’s cool. It’s your call.

When we use affiliate links or posts in any of our content we provide full disclosure on any page or post that contain them. Again, these are to help recover a portion of our hosting costs.
