Breese Stevens Field has operated in Madison since 1926, hosting various sporting clubs, events, concerts and other community events. From baseball to football, boxing, midget auto racing, track & field, rodeo and soccer, the stadium has seen it all in its nearly 100 year old history. After a period of decline coinciding with the construction of newer suburban facilities, the stadium was nearly demolished in 1982 before being saved by a public outcry. The facility was instead renovated for use as a soccer and baseball stadium, and then renovated again in 2018 as Forward Madison became one of the founding members of USL League One.
