Regular season points champions Richmond Kickers announced their initial end of season roster decisions on Wednesday. In addition to two already under contract for 2023 (forward Emiliano Terzaghi, goalkeeper Akira Fitzgerald), the club exercised options on:
- Forward Matthew Bentley
- Forward Owayne Gordon
- Midfielder Chandler O’Dwyer
Those not returning include:
- Midfielder Matthew Bolduc
- Midfielder Leonardo Baima
- Midfielder Christian Molina
- Midfielder Stephen Payne (signed as free agent with Forward Madison)
- Goalkeeper Austin Causey
The status of other members of the 2022 squad was not announced, including league assists leader midfielder Jonathan Bolanos and league young player of the year midfielder Ethan Bryant.
Matt Bolduc was previously the longest tenured member of the Richmond Kickers and a fan favorite, having joined the club in 2017. Bolduc made 97 appearances, but was limited to 5 in 2022 due to injury. The club posted a tribute to Bolduc social media:
