Forward Madison FC announced seven roster moves for the 2023 season. Those confirmed as returning:
- Defender Mitch Osmond
- Forward Derek Gebhard
- Forward Nazeem Bartman
The club also announced free agent signings:
- Former FC Tucson defender Jacob Crull
- Former Richmond Kickers defensive standout Stephen Payne
- Former Tampa Bay Rowdies (and 2022 Red Wolves loanee) defender Timmy Mehl
- Former Fuego FC forward Christian Chaney
Chaney in particular was Fuego FC’s goals leader in 2022 with ten in 27 appearances. The Fresno native moves to Madison after one year with Fuego FC. His journeyman career has seen him with clubs such as Los Angeles Force (NISA), Mosta FC of the Maltese Premier League, Sacramento Republic, Fresno FC and Charlotte Independence.
No departures have been announced, but there have been rumors that only four or five players will be returning from the 2022 squad that finished in a disappointing 9th place.
