UPDATE as of 10:15 pm 3/31/23: USL League One announced that this match is postponed due to Union Omaha experiencing travel delays. The midwestern United States experienced severe weather today, which likely caused the delays.

The Owls make their first visit to Knoxville.

One Knoxville SC: What to Know

Last Result: the expansion side hosted fellow expansion side Lexington SC with a 2-1 win

What One Knoxville SC Brings from the Last Result: the confidence that comes with being an expansion side winning their first match in the league (even if it was against a fellow expansion side), at home. They’ll be ready to do it again.

One Knoxville SC’s X-Factor: discipline. One Knox carries five yellow cards into this match from week one. They’re going to need to calm down a bit against a much better Union Omaha side, especially with the likes of Junior Palacios, who revels in agitating his opponents.

Available on the bench squad:

  • In week one, One Knox had a lot of experience starting on the bench, including Ilija Ilič, Frank Ross and Aginga Selemani. All three subbed in during the second half, along with new professional Dani Fernandez.
  • Sam Fletcher and Matthew Vowinkle also featured on the bench, and have yet to make their debuts
  • Peter Swinkels backs up Sean Lewis in the goal

Not Available or Questionable for Week 3: forward Sebastian Andreassen, midfielder Gabriel Claudio, defender Jan-Erik Leinhos, and defender Sean McDowell.

One Knoxville SC Previous Week Setup

Opponent: Lexington SC
Result: WIN 2-1

Union Omaha: What to Know

Last Result: 1-1 draw vs Forward Madison

What Union Omaha Brings from the Last Result: One Knox SC faced an inexperienced Lexington SC side in week one and had week two off. Union Omaha tested their legs against a new and improved league stalwart, Forward Madison in week two. They’ll have this fresh in their minds this week as they make any necessary adjustments to try to open up some goal-scoring against One Knox.

Union Omaha’s X-Factor: it’s still the offense. While it certainly showed signs of life against Forward Madison, they’re going to be looking for some more goals as the season progresses. Whether this comes from Noe Meza, Alex Steinwascher, Steevan Dos Santos, or another from JP Scearce, it’s gotta happen if they want to improve from last season.

Available on the bench squad:

  • USL veteran striker Steevan Dos Santos started on the bench in week two in favor of newcomer Alex Steinwascher. Dos Santos replaced Steinwascher in the 56th minute.
  • Pedro Dolabella made his team debut off the bench in week one.
  • Club veteran Shaft Brewer came off the bench for a defensive boost in the 85th minute.
  • Defender Marco Milanese, and midfielders Joe Brito and Chavany Willis were on the bench in week one and did not appear.
  • Ian McGrane backed up Rashid Nuhu.

Not Available or Questionable for Week 3: Yoskar Galván-Mercado, Eddie Gordon, Luca Mastrantonio
